Thermal Modernization of Lyceums No. 8 and No. 13 Continues in Rivne: Another Visit by UNDP Representatives to the Sites

Energy efficiency modernization works at Lyceums No. 8 and No. 13 in Rivne are actively ongoing. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the European Investment Bank with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and includes comprehensive thermal modernization of the educational institutions.

On July 1, 2025, the schools were visited by representatives of the UNDP technical assistance team, along with representatives of structural departments of the Executive Committee of the Rivne City Council involved in project implementation. The purpose of the visit was to conduct another round of monitoring to assess the quality and progress of the work. The experts inspected the ongoing measures, including façade insulation, heating system upgrades, and other stages of the project.

It should be recalled that the work at both lyceums began in April this year. During previous inspections on April 23 and May 27, UNDP representatives had already provided technical recommendations, assessed the construction process, and advised contractors on proper documentation procedures.

Upon completion, the educational institutions are expected to have a modern appearance and meet high energy efficiency standards, while creating significantly more comfortable conditions for both students and staff. Additionally, the project will bring important environmental benefits—reducing energy consumption and cutting CO₂ emissions. This will also help the city save on utility costs and ease the burden on the municipal budget.

Lyceum No. 8 currently has 910 students, while Lyceum No. 13 has 1,617 students. The total number of staff members across both institutions is 262. Thanks to the modernization, thousands of Rivne residents will gain access to a safer and higher-quality educational environment.
