Preparation for the Citizens’ Assembly Has Begun in the Rivne Community

Today, our team is working jointly with representatives of the Youth Council under the Rivne City Council. We are preparing envelopes with invitation letters to participate in a significant event for the community — the Citizens’ Assembly.

A total of 5,000 such invitations will be distributed randomly across different parts of the Rivne community. Using the QR code in the invitation, two people from each household may register. In addition, an open registration form for everyone interested in participating in the Citizens’ Assembly will be made available on the City Council’s website.

After the registration closes on 25 February, 45 participants of the Citizens’ Assembly will be selected at random. More information about this innovative deliberative democracy tool, which is new for Ukraine, can be found in a dedicated section on the City Council’s website:

The preparation and implementation of the Citizens’ Assembly are carried out within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for 2023–2026 “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction,” as part of the project “Strengthening Multilevel Governance and Local Democracy to Support Ukraine’s Recovery,” implemented by the Centre of Expertise for Multilevel Governance of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
