Today, a working meeting was held by the implementation group of the subproject under the “Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Ukraine” program.
Participants included Deputy Mayor Artem Hanushchak, representatives of the Capital Construction Department, the Department of Education, principals of Lyceums No. 8 and No. 13, the Budget and Finance Department, Viacheslav Ovechkin from the European Investment Bank, and representatives of the contracting company. Overall coordination of the subproject implementation is carried out by the Strategic Development and Investment Department of the Economic Development Directorate.
During a presentation on the launch of construction work, representatives of the UNDP technical assistance team emphasized contract execution, financing conditions, and the procedures for UNDP project monitoring, as well as the organization of social and environmental management.
Deputy Mayor Artem Hanushchak and Head of the Strategic Development and Investment Department Volodymyr Muliar raised questions regarding the possibility for Rivne Municipality to receive additional grant funding for subproject implementation.
Collaboration with the European Investment Bank will enable comprehensive thermal modernization of Lyceums No. 8 and No. 13, improving the technical, sanitary, and aesthetic conditions for students, teachers, and staff, reducing CO₂ emissions, and decreasing the city budget’s expenses on energy consumption.
As a reminder, Lyceum No. 8 currently educates 910 students, and Lyceum No. 13 – 1,617 students. The combined teaching and administrative staff of both institutions totals 262 employees.
