Representatives of the Department of Strategic Development and Investment took part in a working meeting within the framework of the project "Expanding the economic opportunities of women as a response to the COVID-19 crisis in Ukraine"

On June 2, 2021, representatives of the Department of Strategic Development and Investment participated in a working meeting within the framework of the implementation of the joint project of the International Labor Organization and the United Nations Development Program "Expanding the economic opportunities of women as a response to the COVID-19 crisis in Ukraine", to which the Rivne territorial community was included based on the results of the submitted application, as a potential partner for the implementation of the project.

Total budget: $200,000. USA. Implementation period: February-December 2021.

The participants of the meeting discussed the motivation of the Rivne Territorial Community to participate in the project, the long-term vision of cooperation and reviewed the program documents that can be strengthened in terms of gender sensitivity and realization of economic rights.

The project is aimed at permanently restoring the living standards of the population affected by the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine, through the expansion of economic opportunities for women by improving the relevant institutional mechanisms and creating conditions for the realization of such opportunities. The project is implemented in two target regions - Rivne and Sumy regions.

The project involves the implementation of measures within the framework of four interrelated components:

1. Inclusive political dialogue on the expansion of economic opportunities for women.

2. Improving the local environment to expand economic opportunities for women.

3. Strengthen business associations and employers' associations to support women-led businesses and protect women's labor rights.

4. Capacity Building Program for Women's Economic Empowerment and Support for Women-Led MSMEs
