A delegation from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) visited Rivne to review the progress of energy efficiency modernization projects in municipal facilities.
The representatives visited preschools No. 7 and No. 57, where comprehensive works are underway, including insulation of walls, plinths, and foundations, replacement of windows and doors with energy-efficient ones, installation of accessibility elements, and improvement of the surrounding areas. In addition, solar power plants are being installed at these sites and at the Central City Hospital to provide the institutions with their own electricity supply.
According to NEFCO representatives, such projects make an important contribution to improving energy efficiency, reducing the consumption of traditional energy resources, and cutting CO₂ emissions. They emphasized that Rivne demonstrates a systematic approach to modernizing its municipal infrastructure.
It is expected that after the completion of the works, the institutions will significantly reduce their energy costs, while the installed solar systems will contribute to the city’s environmentally sustainable energy sector.
The project is being implemented with NEFCO’s grant support in partnership and co-financing from the Rivne City Council.
