INTERREG EUROPE: TWO OUT OF TWO!
INTERREG EUROPE: TWO OUT OF TWO!

We have great news! Our team has secured the partnership participation of the Rivne community in two climate neutrality projects under the Interreg Europe program!

The program has supported two out of two ideas submitted by partner consortia, which include our community. An impressive €209,000 has been allocated for implementing activities in the projects “Runway to Carbon Neutrality – Involvement of Business Communities in Climate Strategies” (CLIBUS) and “European Urban Exchanging Knowledge on Climate Neutrality” (EUREKA).

It’s worth noting that the Interreg Europe program was opened to Ukraine for the first time this year, with only 48 Ukrainian organizations participating in the competition. The projects will be implemented over three years, with co-financing required from the community. Notably, the Interreg Europe Monitoring Committee approved only 113 out of 206 submitted project ideas. This is, without exaggeration, a historic achievement for the Rivne community and for Ukraine as a whole.

CLIBUS.
This project focuses on energy efficiency through closer collaboration with business communities such as industrial zones, business parks, and development agencies. The goal is to uncover new opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance the ability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to contribute to the green transition. The project will develop policy tools to support business communities in implementing energy efficiency initiatives and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

EUREKA.
This project addresses climate change by working on the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of urban and regional policies related to climate neutrality. It will support well-prepared cities and regions, as well as those aiming to establish a comprehensive approach to climate neutrality, in sharing knowledge and experiences. Through interregional policy studies and capacity-building activities, the project will identify and adapt successful practices implemented in different contexts, enabling cities and regions to apply them to their unique situations.
