GOGREEN TERNOPIL: In Ternopil, an "EcoHub" was opened and a "Green" City Strategy is being developed with the support of UNDP

On November 22, 2024, Ternopil hosted the large-scale event GoGreen Ternopil: Creative Journey, organized by UNDP in partnership with the local authorities, with the participation of the head of the Department of Strategic Development and Investments, Volodymyr Muliar. The event took place at the "Open Space Ternopil" venue and brought together representatives of civil society organizations, businesses, youth, and international partners.

The program began with welcoming words from Ternopil's Mayor Serhiy Nadil, Olena Stalnikova, Head of Research at the UNDP Acceleration Laboratory, and Mustafa Sait-Ametov, Head of the UNDP Regional Development Program.

The "EcoHub" – a co-working space that will unite those pushing the city forward – was officially opened as part of the Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) project, funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP.

Key highlights of the event included:

  • A presentation of sustainable initiatives in Ternopil within the M4EG project framework. The city showcased its portfolio of innovations for sustainable development.
  • Demonstrations of artificial intelligence technologies, including presentations on Urbanist AI and the mobile solution Tolocar for environmental projects.
  • Practical sessions on forming a green transformation strategy and creating a "green hub," which allowed participants to discuss the roadmap for collaboration, resource mobilization, and donor engagement.

Special attention was drawn to an exhibition and training on the use of mobile creative laboratories Tolocar, organized by GIZ.

It’s worth mentioning that in Rivne, the reconstruction of the future municipal co-working space is also underway. This space will serve as an office for newly established, relocated, or veteran businesses, as well as for business associations and startups in the community.
